For a long time cars like Honda City and Honda Civic have been favourites and churned up good figures. But recently there has been a flood of new launches that have posed a serious threat to the almost monopolistic models by Honda. Cars like Volkswagen Vento and Fiat Linea are some of the biggest challengers to the supremacy of Honda City, one of Honda's highest selling models. Also, till now there has been no diesel car launched by Honda, which is one of its disadvantages.

C.M. Ramachandran Chettiar 's contribution to the Tamil literary world is substantial. G. Satyamurty recollects the tremendous work done by this scholar from Coimbatore

There was no activity related to Tamil and religion in Coimbatore for more than five decades that he did not associate himself with. The author of more than 60 published works and many more yet to see the light of the day, C.M. Ramachandran Chettiar's writings included short stories, essays, poems, drama and a book on history. Fondly called “Kovai kizhar”, he was a Tamil encyclopedia. Marudhachala Adigalar of Perur Aadheenam, in his preface to a recent book on Chettiar, authored by C.R. Elangovan, points out that Chettiar's contribution to the literary world was notable.

He was the first to write a history of Kongu Region. His “Siruvar Sivagnanam”, is on Saiva philosophy. His “Idhuvo Engal Kovai” and “Engal Naatuppuram” delineate the culture and lifestyle of Coimbatore. His “Koyil poonaigal”, “Kaaterumai” and “Veeteli” ridicule the foibles of society. Lamentably, a number of his works are still in manuscript form in Perur Tamil Kalloori library.

Elangovan describes him as a historian, epigraphist, excellent litterateur and an administrator of spiritual institutions, and regrets that much of Chettiar's service to Coimbatore and the literary world remains unknown to this day. Born on Nov 30, 1888, in an affluent family , Chettiar began his education in London Mission School, Coimbatore. He did his B.A at Presidency College. His love for Tamil was nurtured by U.V. Swaminatha Iyer, affectionately called “Thamizh thatha”, who was a doyen of Tamil literature in the early part of 20{+t}{+h} century.

Chettiar won accolades even as a college student for his speech on “Kamba Ramayanamum , Kandhapuranaum” which he delivered in the presence of Maraimalai Adigal, another savant of the Tamil literary world. He contributed substantially to the promotion of education—by helping establish schools and libraries. A member of the Chennai Manuscript Centre and also Thanjavur Saraswathi Mahal Library, he was an expert in reading and publishing works written on palm leaves. He headed the District Library Authority, too. He became a member of the Senate of Madras University in 1943 and 1946. To Read More>>>>>

New York premiere of the provocative new documentary, 3 BILLION AND COUNTING (102 minutes), directed and produced by Dr. D. Rutledge Taylor.Sure to spark outrage, Dr. Rutledge, a California physician specializing in preventative medicine, chronicles the effects of the world-wide ban on the pesticide DDT in 1972, a ban inspired by the first enviro-bestseller, Rachel Carson's Silent Spring (1962). Rutledge's five-year-long effort is driven by his revulsion at millions of deaths, mostly of women and young children, in Africa and South East Asia, by the mosquito-borne disease, Malaria.

According to a recent World Health Organization report, Malaria kills one million people annually, a disease, Rutledge confirms, that is wholly and immediately preventable. A naturalist and a die-hard advocate of preventative medicine, Dr. Rutledge, in the long tradition of American debunkers, wanted to see first hand the extent of Malaria's worldwide impact, and to discover why policies are still in place that exacerbate the epidemic.
| Forex || Online marketing | | Forex Marketing | | Online Forex | |Dataentryjobs | Dr. Rutledge and his Frog Bite Productions team, Co-Producer, Helen Udy, Cinematographer Aaron Krummel, and Project Coordinator, Russell Boast, take us on a 40-day investigative journey to South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, Northern and Southern India, Bali, Indonesia, and Malaysia where they interview African and Indian Government officials, NGO's, charitable organizations, scientists, politicians, doctors, victims, and survivors. What they discover is a tangle of red tape, misguided prevention policies, and treatment that is ineffective in the face of continual re-infection. Above all they find willful deafness to the pleas of local populations to help them eradicate the mosquitoes that deliver the deadly cargo.
| Forex || Online marketing | | Forex Marketing | | Online Forex | |Dataentryjobs | Dr. Rutledge and crew head for Washington, D.C. to document how the ban came about and to shed light on the politics of domestic and international environmentalism and its role in the death and suffering of billions. Dr. Rutledge confirms evidence that the research leading to the world-wide ban on DDT was precipitous, uninformed and fraudulent. America's decision makers -- political leaders and environmentalists -- buried evidence that contradicted their decisions. Dr. Rutledge builds a solid case that indicts our policies, regulatory agencies and uncovers deceit at the highest levels....READ MORE.>>>>

Indian action !!!AVATAR & IRON MAN level

It's been a pretty long time since we have seen action man, Sanjay Dutt in a full-fledged action role. Most of his films in the recent past have been comedies or thrillers. Even the upcoming project KNOCK OUT is more of a thriller and not a totally action oriented movie, as can be seen from the promos that have been unleashed across all television channels and web portals. So, what is the reason behind deadly Dutt not doing his well loved 'dhishum-dhishum' action roles? Well, Dutt admitted not signing action oriented films and he has a pretty solid logic behind doing roles that are a complete departure from his image. He feels that action movies are going through a bad phase in Bollywood and that movies have to reach the level of the action of IRON MAN or AVATAR to be appreciated by the global audience. He lamented the fact that Indian cinema does not have an international market unlike other countries like China and Korea and felt that this was the reason for the pathetic show of action movies in the past. He also stressed on the need for a change of way films are made in Bollywood so that they could appeal to the global audience and also in India.

Crackdown electronic security in India
India says it will extend its electronic security crackdown on Blackberry cellular phones to include all online communication companies like Google and Skype. Security concerns have prompted India to demand access to encrypted data transmitted online.
| Forex || Online marketing | | Forex Marketing | | Online Forex | |Dataentryjobs |
The first target of India's demand for access to encrypted data was Research in Motion, the Canadian company that makes the Blackberry cellular phone. Although the government did not carry out a threat to block Blackberry messaging services by August 31st, it has said that its concerns must be addressed within two months.
| Forex || Online marketing | | Forex Marketing | | Online Forex | |Dataentryjobs |
India Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Wednesday negotiations are continuing with Research in Motion, or RIM, for access to data transmitted by the Blackberry. "RIM has agreed to provide access to some of the communications that are transmitted through the RIM systems, and these have been operationalized with effect from September 1 2010. Discussions on technical solutions for further access are continuing, and the matter will be reviewed within 60 days," said Chidambaram.

Officials say it not just Blackberry's makers who will have to give the government access to their user content, but also other communication services like Google, Skype, MSN Hotmail and Nokia. "All people who operate communication services in India should have a server in India, as well as make available access to law enforcement agencies whatever communication passes through the telecommunication network in India and that has been made clear not only to Research and Motion or Blackberry, but also to other companies," said G.K. Pillai, India's home secretary.

Placing a server in India allows the government easier access to user content. India's demands were raised following concerns that terrorist organizations use internet and mobile phone services that security agencies cannot intercept. Security analysts say the terrorists involved in the November 2008 attacks in Mumbai had used mobile and satellite phones to coordinate the raids. India has been the victim of frequent terror attacks. It is also battling insurgent groups in Kashmir and in the northeast. India is one of the world's fastest growing telecommunications markets. Blackberry has more than one million users in the country.
