Ukip MP Stephen A. Douglas Carswell had to be escorted to safety when he was targeted by anti-austerity protesters as he waited for a bus.
Mr Carswell, UN agency defected from the Conservatives last year, was encircled by over a hundred demonstrators as he stood outside St James' Underground station, close to the homes of Parliament.
Dozens of activists mobbed the politician, vocalizing 'racist scum' and 'UKIP racist' before he was driven to safety. He later delineate the gang as a 'lynch mob' with 'murderous intent'.
Mr Carswell, UN agency is Ukip's solely MP, was noticed by the gang as he walked towards a stop close to the Tube station tonight.
He reportedly had a bottle of water thrown over him before he was driven away in a very van - with a number of the protestors chasing the vehicle down the road.
The Clacton MP later tweeted: 'Am fine. Bit shaken. As associate degree MP i will be able to forever use conveyance and that i don't wish to measure in a very society once politicos do not.'
Speaking after, adult male Carswell said: 'I had simply been within the tube station, and that i was heading over to the stop. Out of obscurity a mob, over a hundred robust, and it got implausibly nasty.
'I mean this was a rabble on the streets of London. it had been associate degree implausibly violent nasty mob and that i was appalled.'
He added: 'It wasn't simply the words that were aggressive, that they had pretty bloody intent. it had been extraordinary.'
