There is no crisis in relations between Saudi Arabia and the UK


, inists Foreign Secretary  The relationship between the two countries serves the interests of Britain, says the Foreign Secretary, hoping to reassure Riyadh of the Government's continued support Philip Hammond has denied there is a crisis in relations between Britain and Saudi Arabia despite a row over human rights and a cancelled bid for a prison contract. The Foreign Secretary told The Telegraph the relationship was "vital" and in British interests, including security interests. He was speaking in Bahrain after visiting Riyadh on what was billed as an attempt to reassure the ruling family of Britain's continuing support in the face of Saudi outrage at recent attacks on the country over its human rights record.
